When what you know, isn’t what you know

I did the math the other day. When I was 9 years old it seemed like the world was a huge place that would never end. Now I’ve flown over a million miles, and frankly even the numbers don’t make sense to me anymore.

When I was 9 years old, people who were 30 were old. Now I think of them as young.

When i was 9 years old i wanted to be a policeman. Now I realize that I don’t have the courage to do a job like that.

When I was 9 years old, the greatest joy in the world was snow. Now I have to shovel my driveway and I hate snow.

It seems that as we age and grow into the person we are to be, what we had known as joy changes. What seems insurmountable when we were 9 now seems like an easy task.

I’ve been out of high school longer then I was in high school by a lot and longer out of high school then the total time it took me to get to high school. I’ve been married to my wife almost as long as I was in school.

Here’s to change!

PS – Rock the vote. it doesn’t matter who you vote for, just that you exercise your right to free speech and help select a new president.
