Honor means doing the right things. JFK reminded us of that in his inaugural address to the nation. He told us to do things not because they are easy but because they have to be done. We as a nation must remember that we are the nation of federation.
What were the current president’s taxes in 2023? Oh, those were published in February 2024. We are still waiting for the first year, 2015, of the former president’s taxes. We haven’t seen one year. We’ve seen releases that were made public, but none by him.
Tradition has a place. They are doing things that have
always been done matters. Why does it matter?
- The peaceful transfer of power is part of what makes us a constitutional federation.
- Presidents are the first citizens of the US, not above the law. We had a king once, back in 1774, 1775, who was, by his estimation (George III) above the reach of the law. What happened to the English King in the US?
- Those running for president release their taxes. No American president ever didn’t until 2015.
- Those in the office of president ALWAYS put their assets in a blind trust until 2015 and then again in 2021.
We cannot have a president that governs by their checkbook. We need honest leaders who consider the value of tradition and operate as first citizens.
